Stylistic characteristics - What did it look like and why?
What was the prominent subject matter?
What was the function of the work? - What was the artist's motivation?
What was happening in the world at the time that may have influenced the work.

Select a significant work from each time period to represent the time period and style of the movement. You will use this on your timeline therefore you must record the artist's name, date it was created, size and where it can be viewed today.
Here are a few examples of how you may present your timeline.
You may use graphic organizers, draw and paste your images, use sites such as pages or canva as desired.

Select one work from any of the movements that you would like to look at more closely. Try to reproduce this work using a medium that is either the same or appropriate to purpose. For example, acrylic with modeling paste as oil paint, oil pastel as oil painting, black marker for woodblock printing etc. Think about the techniques you covered during the drawing and painting workshops.
Create an A4 sized reproduction of the entire work or select a close up part that shows detail and the appropriate/desired techniques.
Label your study with notes that clearly indicate the medium that the artist used. Indicate the elements of art used by the artist. Look for colour, line, form, space, shape, value, texture but also indicate its absence.
