- Looking at the elements of art, students will use their phones or digital cameras to take photographs of the elements that are evident in the world around them. They will zoom in and look more carefully for evidence of line, shape, colour, value (tone), form, texture and space. All images need to be presented in the workbook with annotations of interpretation. When these are completed the students will print out their best sample of each element, label and justify why this is a true and valid example of the chosen element. Present as a chart that can be displayed.
- Selecting your two best elements of art, reproduce one image that suits dry media and one that could be created in wet media. Each study would be approximately A5 in size.
- Selecting 4 pieces by 4 different artists that appeal due to their strong use of the elements of art. Use a MOVE NOTE presentation to analyse and interpret the work using the annotation guide. Be sure to use the pointer tools in order to show what you are commenting on. Upload to google folder created for class.

Criteria B
Listen to music that has both percussion and rhythm. Create free interpretive marks as you hear and respond. Cut the larger paper down to smaller, more resolved compositions.
Criteria C
Thinking creatively, create a sequence of compositional studies that explore ideas for your
final abstract painting. Create 3 to 4 line drawings considering the use of the space, balance and movement that you desire. Create another 3 to 4 colour studies using washes of paint
and coloured dry media. Consider how colour adds or detracts from your intentions. Finish
with 3 to 4 detailed colour studies until you have a sound idea of the final outcome. You
will need to ensure that you express alternatives, take informed risks while documenting and reflecting on your process. The painting studies should show the development of these conditions, at least 4 elements, 4 painting techniques, areas of black and white and areas of colour.
Use the annotation guide to support your reflections.

Create a large abstract painting on canvas paper, applying skills and knowledge from previous tasks. You may want to collect photographs to support your image development. This could demonstrate the influence of your selected artist models.
